To plan microcontrollers, you need a separate application.
For example, for moicrocontroller MPLAB PIC program you need and must know or Basic PIC PIC PIC assembler or C. These languages are well advanced, but uses the same basic syntax of assembly and C.
So Java .. Hmmmm ... Its just another language for programming. Sure ... Can a machine be used languages.
